Recently the drug habilitation effectiveness in Thailand has been under scrutiny. The reason for this is because in Thailand, the security forces have made thousands of people go to a facility that provides a military drill-like approach against there own free will.

They are held there against their own free will for extended periods of time, a month and a half or more in some instances. This type of Thailand drug rehabilitation rarely works and causes people who really do have a serious drug addiction to not seek out a proper facility for drug rehab in Thailand.

In November of 2008 the Prime Minister of Thailand announce a new anti-drug campaign that many fear will be even further abuse of the system. It is supposed to target the actual drug dealers who are supplying people with the drugs they are addicted to.

While the thought of people not being able to get the drugs they need is a good idea, the way they are going about it is simply not going to work.

They are making the caught and suspected drug dealers go to a military drug rehab in Thailand or they are making them enter into the prison system. Not much choice there for someone who deals drugs and allows drug abuse to continue throughout the country.

The problem with these types of Thailand drug rehab centers is that they don’t have the qualified personnel to effectively treat those who do have a problem with a drug addiction. They think that drill-like procedures will work just fine and really don’t combat the emotional problems people have like a qualified Thailand drug rehabilitation center would.

Which means that once the people who are forced to go into this type of treatment returns to normal life, the problems that they had will still be a prevalent problem and may cause the people to go right back to their old habits.

There are many good Thailand drug rehabilitation centers that someone can enroll in that will deal with all aspects of their drug abuse problem. These facilities shouldn’t be grouped in the same category as the more military style ones when someone is looking at the drug habilitation effectiveness in Thailand.
